I. Pro Bono and Social Volunteering
We are committed to the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 1 (No poverty), 3 (Good health and Well -being), 10 (Reduced inequalities) and 13 (Climate Action):
Almaster focuses its pro bono initiatives on helping those communities that require assistance on environmental and healthcare matters.
More than a corporate social responsibility, it is a moral obligation to give back to the community through the knowledge the law firm has.
¿How do we leave a footprint?
- Fundación Salud Taller Funstall: it is a non – profit organization founded in 1994 that hosts children from remote places of the country who suffer from a catastrophic or chronic medical condition and travel to Bogotá to receive medical treatment with their mothers or representatives. Almaster provides all legal matters to the foundation. Some of their lawyers are ad honorem members of the Board of Directors of Funstall.
- Other Foundations: we advise foundations dedicated on providing care to patients with rare diseases as well as those dedicated on improving the quality of life of unprivileged people, through legal advice, and the revision and negotiation of legal documents. Likewise, we participate in some of their missional initiatives.
- Community Work: we lead the community work within a specific community through social, cultural and environmental initiatives.
II. Aguadulce Project
We are committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 1 (No poverty), 8 (Decent work and economic growth), 12 (Responsible consumption and production), 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on land):
We are the only law firm in Colombia with its own registered environmental conservation project as a Habitat Bank.
Aguadulce Project is an initiative that was created due to the current climate emergency mapped out in the sustainability values promoted by the law firm.
Aguadulce Project is located in Vereda San Bartolo in the municipality of Nilo, Cundinamarca Colombia and has an area of 124 hectares. It is situated between 450 and 1.2000 MASL (Meters Above Sea Level) between Tropical Dry Forest and Sub Andean Forest.
The project was registered as a Habitat Bank on September 28, 2022 before the Direction of Forests, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development. Currently the project is in the process of being registered before the Natural National Parks as a Nature Reserve.
The project promotes the production of honey as a based nature solution and a nursery of native timber species, which is under registry before the Colombian Agricultural Institute.
With our Aguadulce Project we seek to inspire the action towards environmental conservation and sustainability to contribute to the biodiversity protection in Colombia.
