Athenea Saavedra López

Athenea is the Director of the Healthcare Law and Legal Design teams at Almaster. Attorney admitted to the New York State Bar since 2013. She has over 15 years of experience in the health sector and has worked as an in-house lawyer for multinational pharmaceutical companies.

Her main areas of expertise include advising on health regulation in Colombia, digital technologies, personal data protection and Legal Design consulting for Legal and Compliance Departments.

She has been a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Externado, Universidad de La Sabana, and Universidad San Buenaventura in Cali. She is a researcher for the GECTI Research Group and the Artificial Intelligence Research Group at Universidad de Los Andes.

Athenea is passionate about technology, literature, and design. During the pandemic, she wrote the children’s book “Cuidemos el bosque seco” inspired by the Aguadulce – Río Sumapaz Habitat Bank. She loves swimming and traveling with her family.
