Alexa Guzmán Urrea

Alexa is a Lawyer of the Corporate Environmental Law and Marine Environmental Law Teams at Almaster. She has over three years of professional experience. During this time, she has worked with the public sector and with civil society organizations. Her work focuses on Public Policy and Environmental Regulation Analysis, this approach allows her to develop legal and sustainable strategies with critical-thinking.
 
Throughout her career, she has been a consultant on issues such as climate change, environmental legislative agenda, and environmental peacebuilding. She has also been involved in strategic litigation defending the environment and human rights. Her commitment to environmental justice drives her to seek solutions that balance business development with environmental conservation.
 
Alexa was part of the Environmental Law Research Group at the Universidad Externado and represented this institution at the 22nd Edition of the Environmental Law Moot Court at Stetson University, where she had the opportunity to engage with the challenges of International Environmental Law.
 
Outside her professional practice, she is passionate about swimming, running, birdwatching, and exploring the most remote corners of Colombia. These activities allow her to connect with Colombia’s biodiversity, which she loves.
